June 18, 2012 - Rattlesnake Ridge Golf Club

The signature annual fundraising event sponsored by the Foundation for the Advancement of Insurance Professionals was a success, raising more than $32,000 to support and develop the future of the independent agency system.

Six PIA interns were in attendance to help sell contest tickets, golf and network with their future employers.

"The laid-back environment at the outing provided me with the chance to open up and ask questions comfortably," 2011 Intern Grant Morris said. "It was a fun bonding experience."

PIA's 2011 Golf Outing Fundraiser Surpasses Last Year's Efforts

PIA has raised more than $100,000 to benefit the Foundation for the Advancement of Insurance Professionals over the past three years.

The success of the golf outing signifies the industry's strong support of the Internship Program's goal of attracting young professionals to the insurance industry and promoting it as a desirable career choice.

"PIA’s Internship Program provides a near perfect incubating environment coupling interested employers with pre-qualified job candidates.

Concentrated exposure during the five-week training and mentoring process offers sufficient time for the agency to assess the intern’s skills, work ethic and potential cultural alignment with independent agency values."

-PIA Past President Dave Kotary
